Travelling down from Manchester to London the the new wizzy Virgin trains, I saw this strange sight … a refreshments bag whose handles were being utilised to hold together the two doors of the cooler compartments…
The fast Pendelino trains are designed to tilt as they take curves to allow increases in speed unachievable by straight upright trains … but when they do this the cooler doors spring open, banging into unsuspecting travellers waiting in line for their chocolate chip cookies.
Hence the gainful employment for the bag, which would otherwise have to be satisfied with being a simple paper container for hot liquids…
